Pump Operator Spring 2026

Service Description

This one evening and one day program prepares a firefighter to operate fire pumps. The evening has a classroom session that will cover apparatus safety, driver responsibilities, apparatus inspections, apparatus response, fire pump designs and types and component review with parts displays. Apparatus and fire pump controls and safety equipment and how to deal with apparatus emergency problems will also be covered. Information and skills to assist the pump operator with calculating fire flow pressures and in depth review of drafting, relay pumping, "pressurized" and "dry" hydrant operations and more. The day class will be a hands on session includes operations from apparatus tank, controlling pressurized water sources, drafting, multiple line flows, master streams and relay pumping. This is not a certification course.
